How NetworkTest works

NetworkTest runs a series of pings to your router and to an independent remote server. At the end of the test, a graph is generated with all the received responses, for both the internal network (LAN) and the remote server.

A good quality connection shows "remote" values slightly higher than the LAN with zero (or very few) lost packets. High packet loss indicates problems on the internet line or local network.

Four test modes

Very Fast
10 pings – a few seconds
Fast
100 pings – ~2 minutes
Accurate
500 pings – ~10 minutes
Heavy
1000 pings – ~20 minutes

Features

  • Local router ping (LAN)
  • Independent remote server ping
  • Visual results graph
  • Packet loss detection
  • 4 test modes (10–1000 pings)
  • Data saving for later analysis

How to interpret the results

Excellent connection

"Remote" values slightly higher than LAN. Zero or very few lost packets (<1%). Your connection is working perfectly.

Local network issues

Packet loss on the LAN: possible problem with the router, Ethernet cable or local Wi-Fi. Check your router and cables.

Internet line issues

More than 5% packet loss on the "remote" server: likely an internet line problem. Contact your provider for a check.
